The Orange County Sheriff's Office no longer investigates worthless checks. If the worthless check is in the jurisdiction of unincorporated Orange County, you will need to refer the matter to Orange County Civil Court, or to a collection agency. If the worthless check is in the jurisdiction of another municipality, please refer to that municipality's law enforcement agency to find out if they investigate worthless checks.

Per Florida statute, the responsibility for collection agency fees lies with the issuer of the worthless check, not the receiver of the check.
