CRIMELINE UPS REWARD FOR TIPS LEADING TO AN ARREST IN ANTHONY ORTIZ MURDER TO $30,000
Crimeline announced today that it has increased the reward for information leading to an arrest in the shooting death of Anthony Ortiz, the 22 year old man who was shot and killed during an armed robbery at Cash Register Auto Insurance on Friday, July 14, 2006. Ortiz was employed at the business.
Anyone providing a tip to CRIMELINE may remain anonymous. If the tip leads to an arrest in the case the tipster could be eligible for a cash reward up to $30,000.
According to eyewitnesses to the robbery, Ortiz was shot without provocation. He had apparently complied with all demands made by the robbers which have been described as three to four black males driving a full sized tan or peach colored vehicle that had been "raised." (Jacked up)
"This was clearly nothing more than a case of cold blooded murder," said Orange County Sheriff Kevin Beary. "It's a tragedy for all concerned that underscores the gratuitous violence that is becoming all too common with our local street thugs."
"My heart goes out to the family and friends of Mr. Ortiz," added the Sheriff. "$30,000 is a lot of money that should help bring us some good leads in this case."
Anyone with information on this case should call CENTRAL FLORIDA CRIMELINE immediately at 407.423.TIPS (407.423.8477)
