A statement from the family of DFC Adam Pierce -

The Pierce family would like to express their love and gratitude to everyone that has been praying for them and the recovery of their son, DFC Adam Pierce.  Words truly cannot express what our hearts deeply feel.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to the Orange County Fire Rescue units and the exceptional staff at ORHC.  Everyone has been wonderful and we would like to especially thank the ER Trauma Team, the Trauma/ICU Unit doctors and nurses, the Administrative Staff, and the whole ORHC family.

We cannot begin to express how Sheriff Beary and the entire Sheriff’s Office’s love and support are helping the healing process.  They have anticipated and met every need.

We have been told that on the night our son was shot law enforcement agencies from across the state responded to the scene to assist in the initial search.  We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of those officers for their tireless dedication and hard work.

As a result of this callous and horrible act by one man, DFC Adam Pierce has sustained serious debilitating injuries.  He is recovering slowly but has a very long, hard road ahead of him.  The whole Pierce family appreciates the communities continued prayers and support as Adam begins his ongoing recovery.

                                                                                                                                     - The Pierce Family

Deputies who serve the citizens of Orange County undergo the most rigorous and comprehensive training.

While deputies participate in the training sessions with a sense of seriousness and determination, sometimes it’s not always enough…… especially when a suspect displays such a blatant disregard for the law.  This proved to be case the evening of October 10 when 25 year old DFC Adam Pierce was shot and seriously injured the line of duty.

Adam, his twin brother, Matt and their proud father, Perry all wear an Orange County Deputy Sheriff's Star.  Anyone who knows Adam, Matt, or Perry, should consider themselves blessed!  For those who have never had the privilege, consider it a loss.  The Pierce family is an extraordinary one.   Adam, a five year veteran loves his job and has proven to be exceptional at it. Tragically, that all came to a crashing halt when an armed suspect intentionally fired shots at him.

Now, it’s our turn to show the Pierce family that we are united as one.  It is our turn to show the family that when one is hurt, we all suffer.

A Trust Fund has been established to help the family with the many expenses they will be facing.  Please show your support by contributing to the Donation Account at any Orlando Federal Credit Union.  Tell them you want to contribute to the “Deputy Sheriff Adam Pierce Donation Account.”  They will take it from there.  And on behalf of the family, Sheriff Beary, and those who are close to Adam...  thank you for your thoughts, prayers and generosity.
