The Orange County Sheriff's Office is committed to the task of keeping the county's roadways a safe place to drive, especially during the busy holiday season.   All too often we see an increase in traffic, speeding drivers, and motorists driving under the influence during the holiday season.  Sheriff Beary and The Orange County Sheriff's Office Traffic Squad urge everyone to slow down and use the utmost caution while driving during the Christmas season. 3_elf.jpg

The Traffic Squad will be conducting a number of special details during the holidays that will target speeding and aggressive drivers as well as motorists who have chosen to drive after having too much to drink.  These details are not about revenue or intended to ruin anyone's holiday.  To the contrary, they are intended to keep someone from ruining the holiday season for you or someone you love.

So... please slow down, give your fellow motorists a break, not only during the holidays but year round, and if you do choose to party and indulge in alcoholic beverages, do so in a responsible manner and don't get behind the wheel after having a little too much holiday cheer.

On behalf of Sheriff Kevin Beary and the men and women dedicated to keeping you and your loved ones safe... enjoy the holidays to the fullest and have a safe and prosperous new year.
