The Orange County Sheriff's Office, Emergency Response Team(E.R.T.) has both the equipment and training to deal effectively with any type of civil disturbance or unlawful demonstration. The unit has found the "Mobile Field Force" concept is a proven method of dealing with the violent and non-violent actions of demonstrators and rioters. An essential part of this concept is having the unit properly trained and equipped. Each squad on the E.R.T. is required to train monthly and remain on callout status two weeks every month. The unit is equipped with the most up-to-date Tactical Equipment available.
The mission of the E.R.T. has been broadened to include, but is not limited to, being part of the Region Five Domestic Security Task Force, searches for lost children and Alzheimer's patients, security during man made or natural disasters, fugitive roundups and Vice and Narcotics details. The unit also trains other agencies in Mobile Field Force tactics and Deployment. For Law Enforcement Agency inquiries reference Mobile Field Force Training, contact:
