The sector patrols approximately 500 square miles of the county. It has large rural tracts with vast cattle ranches. Within these boundaries lies the county’s fastest growing residential area along with supporting retail and commercial development. Sector II has experienced phenomenal growth in recent years.
The Sector II facility also houses the Sector II Property, Agricultural Crimes, and Tactical Units, along with the sector’s Code Enforcement Officer.
Sector II is divided and patrolled with six (6) zones. The zones are further divided into beats (A, B, C and D) as needed to properly allocate personnel and provide for improved service and response times to calls in these specific geographic areas. Zone 22 has the distinction of being the busiest zone in the county and rated number one (1) in calls for service countywide. Sector II handles over 100,000 calls for service annually.
Sector II has three county commission districts within the areas of responsibility. They are District 3 Commissioner, District 4 Commissioner, and District 5 Commissioner all having electorate they serve in the sector.
Located within the borders of Sector II are 27 elementary schools, 12 middle schools, and 4 high schools. It is also home to the University of Central Florida and Valencia Community College. The colleges maintain a roster of approximately 56,000+ students.
Contained in the boarders of Sector II are the Research Park Corridor and the Military Research Facilities. Waterford Lakes Town Center is considered East Orange County’s central shopping district. It is the largest outdoor shopping center in the southeast United States. There are more than 100 national tenants, specialty shops and restaurants spread across its more than 1 million square foot area.
Sector II can boast of its diverse cultural events held at the many parks, churches, and schools in East Orange County.
