Orange County's west side, Sector III, was not immune to the growing pains being experienced in other portions of the county as more and more of it's rural areas were transformed into residential developments and commercial concerns.  A number of innovative approaches to effectively deal with the changing times were implemented to identify and resolve the difficulties ushered in by the growth experienced in Sector III.

Some examples are:  An open line of communication among Sector III personnel and members of the community has proven to be an effective crime fighting strategy.  Weekly sector crime meetings identify a "problem of the week" and possible resolutions to the focus problem.  Weekly meetings with Sector apartment managers are part of the Sector's partnership approach to identifying problems and formulating effective strategies to reduce crime in the area.
