Sector 6 is the newest sector in Orange County. Its formation was a direct result of the contract that was signed between the Sheriff’s Office and Reedy Creek Improvement District. The Reedy Creek Improvement District is comprised of Disney properties, and the cities of Lake Buena Vista and Bay Lake. The contract went into effect on Saturday, January 1, 2005. The sector is housed in the Reedy Creek Fire Department located on East Buena Vista Drive.

Although the contract covers services to the two cities, there is a minimal amount of residences in the sector and no schools. This area has many theme parks, hotels, and other businesses that cater to the millions of tourists who flock to Orlando every year.

At a recent conference, Sector 6 served as a model of efficiency when it comes to municipalities engaged in contracts with law enforcement agencies. This partnership flourishes under the nurturing of monthly meetings with the district and city managers.
