Eddie Eagle Lands with an Important
Safety Message
Minimize

Children get to use their eagle eyes to spot the hidden danger in the specially-designed Eddie Eagle program teaching Firearms Injury Prevention.

"Stop! Don't Touch! Then don't hang around. Tell what you saw. Tell what you found."

This is the advice of Eddie Eagle to a child who sees a gun.

The curriculum is designed to be age-appropriate and simulate actual situations in which participants might encounter a gun.

Students watch a video hosted by Jason Priestly that depicts Eddie Eagle in his various adventures as he keeps young people safe from firearms injury.

After the video, the children participate in a scavenger hunt where the object is to differentiate between safe and unsafe situations.

Students learn the difference between a toy gun and a real gun — the difference between "pretend" and real life. For example, BB guns are not toys.

While in the end, Eddie Eagle must fly off to educate others, his message to Stop, Don't Touch, Leave the Area, and Tell an Adult stays.

"Children have the right to grow up safe."
