The Orange County Sheriff’s Office provides a service that allows you to hire deputies and/or field service officers during their off-duty hours to perform a variety of services, including:
- Business – Deputies provide enhanced services for specific business needs.
- Dignitary Protection – Deputies provide protective services for one or more individuals.
- Homeowner’s Association (HOA) – Deputies provide enhanced services for specific communities.
- Individual – Deputies provide enhanced services for personal events.
- Traffic Control / Safety – Deputies and/or Field Service Officers provide stationary traffic control and/or pedestrian safety services.
To request off-duty services, an Off-Duty Request should be submitted to Off-Duty Management at least five (5) working days prior to your event. Requests received within five (5) working days of an event may not allow sufficient time for approval and staffing.
Off-Duty Management is responsible for the overall administration of off-duty services, including billing and collection of all applicable administrative and hourly fees.
The ability to hire off-duty services is at the sole discretion of the Sheriff’s Office. We reserve the right to decline job requests that may be deemed inappropriate for deputies.
Participation in the off-duty program is completely voluntary. There is no guarantee that any job request will be filled.
The Sheriff’s Office reserves the right to cancel off-duty employment details without notice and to recall agency personnel for official duty at any time.
