The Court Security Section is assigned the broad task of ensuring the security of all courtroom proceedings in Orange County, as well as the safety of all employees, court staff, and citizens who may enter any of the several court facilities throughout Orange County during the hours of court operations. Orange County is one half of the Ninth Judicial Circuit with a current combined assignment of sixty-five (65) judges, magistrates, and hearing officers. There is also a budgeted number of visiting and senior judges with almost 500 regularly scheduled workdays and foreclosure hearing days each year. The Court Security Section also assists members of the Orange County Facilities Management, the Office of the State Attorney, the Office of the Public Defender, the Office of the Clerk of the Court, the Florida Supreme Court, the Judiciary, the State Court Administrator, and Orange County Court Administration, with special activities which take place throughout Orange County.
