The Citizens Advisory Committee is a nine-member group made up citizens that meet monthly. The Committee members are nominated by the Orange County Mayor, each County Commissioner, the Sheriff, and the police union. Review the policy for more details. If you are interested in volunteering for the committee, please contact your Commissioner.
The committee’s mandate is twofold:

To comply with CDC Social Distancing Guidelines and keep our citizens safe, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) will conduct a combination of “in-person” and virtual format. A quorum of CAC members will be present “in-person” at the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Members of the public who wish to view the meeting can register here.

Written Public Comment
Please email your comment to OCSOCitizensAdvisoryCommittee@ocfl.net before 12 PM (noon) the day of the meeting. Include your name, address, phone number and the topic of your public comment in the email. At the beginning of the public comment period, Orange County Sheriff’s Office staff will enter your submission into the public record if it is relevant to the topic being discussed.
Live Public Comment
We will provide an opportunity for those participating in the event virtually to comment during a Question and Answer session at the conclusion of the meeting. In order to participate in the session, you must use the chat function in the virtual setting.
