Law Enforcement Positions

 

The Orange County Sheriff's Office is seeking qualified candidates of the highest integrity for our sworn and civilian positions. Minimum Requirements:

  • Good work history

  • Accredited high school or GED diploma

  • Must be able to comprehend and communicate fluently in verbal and written English.

  • At least 20 years of age.

  • U.S. Citizen.

  • Valid driver's license for the last year.

  • Must not have been convicted of a felony.

  • Must not have been convicted of a misdemeanor involving moral character, false statements, perjury or domestic violence.

  • Must not have received a dishonorable discharge from the United States Armed Forces

  • No marijuana use within the last year. Other drug usage will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

  • Must be in good physical condition

 

Sworn Pay

Once hired, if you qualify, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office will facilitate the process to receive your $5,000 State of Florida Recruitment Bonus. While attending the law enforcement academy, recruits receive a starting salary of $43,368 annually. During Field Training, first-year Deputies start at $50,000 and earn increases each year to a maximum base salary of $80,0000. There are opportunities for additional pay to include certain shift and educational incentives.

At the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, there is tremendous room for growth.

Corporal pay range is $58,000 to $84,000 annually.

Sergeant pay range is $70,000 to $88,000 annually.

Lieutenant pay range is $93,000 to $104,000 annually.

Functional Fitness For Deputies

The Orange County Sheriff's Office Functional Fitness Workout is a full workout made up of 10 separate exercises. If you are interested in becoming a deputy at the Orange County Sheriff's Office or have already been accepted into the academy, we recommend you complete this workout several times a week. Take water breaks if needed. As always, be sure to consult with a physician before beginning any exercise regimen.

 

 

 

 

Civilian Support Positions

 

The Orange County Sheriff's Office is seeking qualified candidates of the highest integrity for our civilian job openings.   • For positions requiring driving, a valid driver's license for the last year

  • Must not have been convicted of a felony

  • Must not have been convicted of a misdemeanor involving moral character, false statements, perjury or domestic violence

  • Must not have received a dishonorable discharge from the United States Armed Forces

  • No illegal drug usage within the last year. Other drug usage will be evaluated on a case by case basis
